All about Ms. Ouni!
Ms. Ouni is one of our amazing teachers at Country Springs Elementary. Although she is one of our newer teachers, she is excellent at her job and well-liked by her students. We know this, because on Literature Day when she walked into our 6th grade classroom to read her book, everyone shouted, “Yay!” A large group of students in our class who had her last year were pleased to see her again! During our interview, we learned that Ms. Yi and Ms. Ouni visited a famous site from the movie called The Goonies. This is a great movie, so that makes her cool in our book!
Since she is such an amazing teacher, we asked her some questions to get to know her better. Her favorite subject in school is Social Studies. Her favorite color is blue, which we found confusing since she dressed up as a pink crayon for Literature Day. Her favorite animal is a sloth, because she said they are cute and they sleep all day. Her favorite ice-cream flavor is cookies-and-cream.
During her free time, she loves to shop, do yoga, and hang out with her friends and family. One reason she wanted to become a teacher is so she can make a difference in her students’ lives. One of the ways she is accomplishing that is by taking her kids on educational field trips. She planned an amazing field trip for her students to visit the Ocean Institute. On this field trip her students went on a boat ride and dissected fish!
Before she became a teacher and began teaching her 30 amazing students, she worked in the Culinary Food Industry. While the culinary food industry sounds like a fascinating job, we are glad she chose to teach at Country Springs Elementary School.

#InternetTrends
by Nathan Nyaung, Gavin Young, and Harry Zhang
In this issue of the All-Star Times, we’ve decided to investigate and report current internet trends. During our research, we discovered that liquid nitrogen puffs, the Lamborghini Huracan and Kevin Hart are very popular.
Liquid Nitrogen Puffs are a very interesting dessert. They are small edible puff balls that allow the person who eats it to breathe out smoke (nitrogen) like a dragon. It has gotten very popular on the internet recently. They are a special cereal dipped in liquid nitrogen. This desert is tasty and delicious and can be found in many shopping malls, restaurants, and more.
The second trend we found is the Lamborghini Huracan. It is the 2nd newest car released by the company Lamborghini Inc. It cost a stunning $199,880 and has the horsepower up to 602 hp. The Lamborghini Huracan is a sports car that has many different features and purposes. Many rich people, especially the residents of the city of Beverly Hills, own a Lamborghini Huracan as a high-quality fancy automobile for themselves, many celebrities such as Jake Paul, KSI, and Faze Rug all own a Lamborghini.
The final trend we have is about the famous actor Kevin Hart. He has starred in many movies and films. He is known all around the world. He is also known for being a comedian. One of the movies he has coming out soon is Jumanji.

This Month’s Adventures
by Allie Chiu, Tessa Hudson and Jenny Wang
On Wednesday, November 14th, some people got to watch the Pogo show out on the playground. The Pogo show was very entertaining to watch. On Thursday, November 15th, Mrs. Gire's choir performed several songs at The Shoppes. The following day, November 16th, the primary grades had their Entrepreneur Day. Entrepreneur Day is where the 6th grade gets into groups and forms businesses. The 6th grade would made and sold items for class money.
From November 21st to December 1st, 6th grade went on a field trip to Thousand Pines Outdoor Science Camp. The whole sixth grade did many exciting activities during the five days of camp and had lots of fun. We played many fun games and did outdoor challenges, such as climbing the rock wall and archery. The students went on daily hikes and learned amazing things about the Earth and nature. They also went on a night hike after dinner, which was very dark. Everyone had an amazing week at Thousand Pines Outdoor Science Camp!

Do you like Christmas? Well if you do, then we have the perfect movie for you! A Charlie Browns Christmas. A Charlie Browns Christmas is a perfect movie because it is rated G and age appropriate. Don’t you ever get bored while watching a movie because its so long? Well not for A Charlie Browns Christmas! The movie is only 30 minutes.
The movie starts out during Christmas time and everyone is happy and excited, except for Charlie Brown. His sister Sally requests for him to be the director of the School Christmas Pageant. He has to find the real meaning of Christmas. He is stressed, because the pageant is coming soon and he still hasn't found the real meaning of Christmas. Besides directing the pageant and learning the meaning of Christmas, the other children want him to pick out a big, beautiful Christmas tree. Instead of getting the tree they asked for he bought a small, sickly looking tree. The rest of the children get upset with him but then later realize what Christmas really means. Christmas isn't about all the gifts or a big Christmas tree. It's about spending time with your family and friends.

Ways to Stay Active
Ga-Ga Ball is a fun game/sport that the 6th graders played at Thousand Pines Outdoor Education. The way to play is that you are in a ring and you are given a ball. The rule is that you have to hit the ball with your hands at a person’s knee and below. If you hit the person below the knees that person is out. The last person in the ring is the winner. It is different from soccer which is also a fun sport that will keep you active and moving. You need to communicate with your team to maneuver the ball. The object of soccer is for a player to get the ball into the other team's goal by using any part of the body except the player's hands and arms. The goalie is the only player allowed to touch the ball with the hands and arms. Two teams of eleven players each compete to get the ball into the other team's goal, thereby scoring a goal.
Dance is considered an art and a sport. There are many types of dance, such as, ballet, jazz, ballroom, and contemporary. Ballet is often referred to as the backbone of dance. This style of dance is used to tell a story. It relies heavily on technique and requires an enormous about of diligence and dedication to perfect Jazz dancers often have more freedom to express their own individual personality through their dance performances. Ballroom dances are done with a partner, almost always a man and a woman. For this reason, it is known as the social dance, because of the interaction between dance partners. There are several popular types of ballroom dances including the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Jive, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Rumba, Samba, Tango, and the Waltz. Contemporary dance incorporates Lyrical, Modern, Ballet and Jazz. Contemporary dance is all about connecting the mind and the body through dance movements. In gymnastics, women compete in four events: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise. Gymnastics is a sport practiced by men and women that requires balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and control. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest and abdominal muscle. On the uneven bars, the gymnast performs a timed routine on two parallel horizontal bars set at different heights. Gymnast can be swinging, circling, transitional, and release moves that may pass over, under, and between the two bars. on the balance beam, gymnasts perform a choreographed routine up to 90 seconds in length consisting of leaps, acrobatic skills, somersaults, turns and dance elements on a padded beam. This event requires balance, flexibility, grace, poise, and strength. The routine consists of tumbling passes, series of jumps, leaps, dance elements, acrobatic skills, and turns, or pivots, on one foot. A gymnast can perform up to four tumbling passes that usually includes at least one flight element without hand support.
These sports and activities can be played by boys AND girls. Each of these sports keep you active and healthy. They are also super fun to play with your friends and family.
