  • 3.WHO WAS THE PERSON????? Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen (A. P. J.) Abdul Kalam was a scientist and engineer, who served as the President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was a man of vision ,who is always full of ideas aimed at the development of the country and is often also referred to as the missile man of India. People loved and respected him so much during his tenure as president that was popularly called the people’s president. He is also receive largest civilian award Bharat Ratan in 1997.

  • 6.Early Life- Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born On 15th October 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His father, Jainulabudeen was a boat owner and imam of a local mosque and his mother Ashiamma was a housewife. Kalam was the youngest of four brothers and one sister in his family

  • 8. In his school, he describes as sincere ,bright & a hardworking student who had a strong desire to learn & spend hours in his studies, especially math's.
  • 9.After graduating from Madras Institute Of Technology, Kalam joined Aeronautical Development Establishment of Defense Research & Development Organization as a chief scientist. He started his career by designing a small Helicopter for Indian Army. In 1969 he was moved to Indian Space Organization where he was the project director of India's Satellite vehicle (SLV-III). As chief Executive of Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) , he also plays a major part in developing many missile including Agni & Prithvi.

  • 11.Failed in launching SLV – III for the first time. He owned the responsibility for the failure of project. But finally he achieved success in the next time.

  • 20.On 27 July 2015, Kalam travelled to Shillong to deliver a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. At around 6:35 p.m. IST, only five minutes into his lecture, he collapsed. He was rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital in a critical condition; upon arrival, he lacked a pulse or any other signs of life. Kalam was confirmed dead of a sudden cardiac arrest at 7:45 p.m. His last words, to his aide Srijan Pal Singh, were reportedly: "Funny guy! Are you doing well?" DEATH-
